Are you ready for Ground Hogs Day?

My husband, me and our children are considered very odd in the part of the midwest where we live because we long for Wisconsin. Our friends are quick to tell us that we wouldn't like Wisconsin in the winter. But, we beg to differ as just two days ago I finally found it cold enough here, in the midwest, to enjoy a sweatshirt as before I found it just too warm. But, for the rest of you, there's a celebration each year that allows you to cheer on the spring.

The start of February every year, there's a tradition that is more fun than scientific. It is the celebration of Ground Hogs Day. The idea is that when a ground hog comes out of his hole it is said that we will have 6 more weeks of winter or enjoy an early spring depending on whether or not this ground hog sees his shadow.

There are events that go all out with town celebrations and even a movie named after the day.

However you choose to celebrate, or not celebrate, the day - Here is a fun addition to your learning library or puppet center. It's from Barefoot Books, and I am an ambassador for the company. This simply means that I get to tout their praises which will enthuse you so much that you want to purchase Barefoot Book items. And, this puppet is so fun, it's hard to pass up!

If you want to be so kind to add this fun little Hedge Hog (which is basically just another name for the Ground Hog with some differences only a zoologist will point out) - You can purchase this Hedge Hog Puppet Here! Just go to the bottom of the page, and you'll see the puppet listed as part of the items I have chosen to showcase. You could also go all the way to the bottom of the page and take part in the Ground Hogs Day event. If you do this, you simply click on that icon from the page and shop away adding anything to the cart you prefer under the groundhog event code!

Happy Ground Hogs Day! If you enjoy warmer weather, then here's to an early spring!
