What is the KWIK STIX?
It's an amazing innovation for teachers and parents who love the idea of their kids getting creative but hate the clean up mess left behind. These Kwik Stix allow a child to paint in the same way he or she would color or draw. Kwik Stix is tempera paint that is a solid tube of paint inside of a twist-up plastic stick, like glue sticks. It dries in 90 seconds, is easy for the child to hold, and provides so much less mess than water, paint and brushes.
The ones I received came in a 12-pack which included the much artist-demanded but seldom found elsewhere white and black, and then an array of all of the colors in the rainbow plus some darker hues:

We went to town using these, and honestly so did I. My daughter and I absolutely fell in love with how easy they are to use and how quickly they dry.

One day, I thought - "Hmmm, why couldn't I use this paint on projects around the house that need a bit of a touch up." So, I did. I used it on a chipped ceramic.
- We used it for art.
- We used it for Science assignments.
- We used it on some ceramics to touch up a chip.
- I even touched up some spots on our walls and dining room chairs.
- We used these Kwik Stix any and every time we could.

These Kwik Stix came in handy to use alongside her science workbook when it asked for projects involving drawing or coloring.
I used it on my white walls that had scuffs and marks from children over the years, and I used it on our dining room chairs:
What Did We Think?
The benefits of this product are immense. The Kwik Stix are easy to use, perfect size for little artist hands and they are so much less messy than typical painting projects. The wide surface is nice to cover wide areas of paintings, but we discovered that on the times we needed to make a thin line, we could also use the traditional thin paint brush on the surface of the Kwix Stix or even add a just a touch of water. My daughter keeps asking me how they dry so fast. I don't know the answer, but I'm loving that they do.
