Homeschool Review Crew - Halloween Candy Box Tracts

Review, #hsreviews, #ShareTheGospel, #evangelism, #halloweentract, halloween tract; share the gospel with children; child evangelism

I was thrilled to get a chance to review the Is There Anything Better Than Candy? Box-Tract from Let the Little Children Come.

What is the IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER THAN CANDY? BOX-TRACT?
Let the Little Children Come
Let the Little Children Come Halloween Tract

This is a gospel tract that assembles into the shape of a pumpkin. As the child unfolds the pedal-shaped pieces of the pumpkin, the inside text explains biblical passages for children and even walks them through a prayer of salvation. I received a stack of pre-printed sheets to punch out and assemble 20 boxes.

These could be used to:

  • Have your church give them out at a harvest festival, or at a trunk or treat event.
  • Fill with treats and hand them out to trick or treaters
  • Use them with a Sunday School class or youth group at church to teach the children about salvation or to help them learn how to talk to their friends about Jesus.
  • Use them with scout troops or other kids' groups.
  • Visit a nursing home to share Jesus with the grandmas and grandpas.
  • Give the boxes to a faith-based food pantry to give out to kids who come through.

I received a pack of 20 tracts that were ready to punch out and assemble. To assemble them, you fold in each "petal" of the flower looking sheet. Pre-printed on each of the petal flaps is a numbered portion of the story of salvation.

The tracts are easy to punch out and fairly easy to assemble. Printed on the sheets are a step-by-step process for assembly.

As the child unfolds the pumpkin, he or she is walked through a step-by-step process of getting to know Jesus.

#1 Introduces what the tract is all about:

Step 2: Gets right to the heart of explaining how much God loves them:

Step 3 explains why we need Jesus:

Step 4 Explains what Jesus did to bridge the gap between sin and love:

Step 5 explains how to receive Jesus into your heart and give 3 steps to salvation:

Step 6 provides a word-for-word prayer of salavation:

How Did We Use It?

I know the point of the tract is to explain that there is something/someone so much better than candy. But, I thought it would be a nice touch to actually include a hidden candy surprise on the inside so as not to leave the child feeling let down that there was no candy inside. So, before folding it into a pumpkin, I put a piece of candy inside.

We assembled them and put a small piece of candy inside each one with the intention to hand out to our Trick-or-treaters. In the process I walked through the steps listed inside the tract with my child.

What Did We Think?

This is a really fun way to share the Gospel. We have been handing out candy for the past couple of years, and we always make our own little tracts to go with the candy. These candy box tracts make it so much easier and saves me from printing and using all of my ink and paper. The child receives a fun little pumpkin that opens up to share an important message. So cool!
