I was thrilled to get a chance to review the Mega Pack filled with 4500+ Super Beads from Zirrly. Other members of the Homeschool Review Crew reviewed some of the other products which include:
Jungle Animals - This set includes templates and beads to make a rhino, elephant, lion, zebra, owl, and monkey.
3D Animals - This set includes everything you need to make a 3D dog and a 3D deer out of the beads. The 3D sets are intended for children ages 10+.
Birds - This set includes the proper colored beads and patterns to make an owl, duck, and parrot.
3D Car and Truck - Construct a car and a truck with this kit. The 3D sets are intended for children ages 10+.
Spinning Tops - Includes the beads and pieces needed to make 3 spinning tops.
Jewelry Set - Make a necklace, heart bracelet and earrings.
Mega Pack - Includes 4500+ beads, templates to create 4 designs.
The idea behind Zirrly beads are beads that you place to create a design, and then you fuse them together. These beads are also called Perler beads. Only, these Zirrly beads don't require using the heat of an iron to set the design. All you need is water to bind the beads together.
I was pleased to open up the package and discover I had received the Mega Pack Super Beads from Zirrly. It was a large bag of mixed colored plastic beads, clear square trays with little pegs on them, design pattern templates, a small spray bottle, and a little plastic tool to help pick up the beads and a scraper-like end to help remove the designs from the plastic trays. The design templates were an elephant, a cupcake/or ice cream, an apple, and a turtle. There was also an instruction manual enclosed. The instructions were really easy to follow. Pretty much, you place the pattern templates into place on the clear plastic square tray, match the correct color bead to the pegs on the top side, and then spray with water and wait. When it's dry, you use the plastic tool to help remove it from the tray.

How Did We Use It?
The kit came with patterns that we easily snapped into place in the plastic grids. Of course, my elephant-loving girl chose to tackle the elephant first. The elephant template was special since it included two stands that would make it stand up when it's dry and after assembly.
While she was busy building her elephant, I tried my hand at an ice cream sundae picture/cupcake delectable dessert. I found it to be easy to follow the template picture with the beads placed on the plastic pegs.
Then, my daughter chose to work on the apple pattern. This time, it seemed to go even faster and easier after having done one design already.

It was really easy to follow the template and just match the properly colored beads to the picture template beneath.
We decided the Super Beads would be easier to work with if we had them separated by color, so we sorted them all out and filled small zip lock bags.

What Did We Think?
These were really fun to work with, easy, and felt like they were safe too since there was no heating necessary, just water.
