In our house, for some unknown reason to this mama who always did well in arithmetic, Math is a four-letter word, but in my quest to change my child's attitude toward the subject, I was thrilled to get a chance to review a brand new interactive math practice site geared toward elementary-aged students from iKnowIt.com, also known as I Know It, or iknowit and brought to you by the same amazing folks behind SuperTeacherWorksheets.com.
I Know It offers a free 60-day trial to interested homeschoolers and teachers. Find information on the free trial page. Also, check out their Order & pricing page to discover all of the benefits this site has to offer.
What is I KNOW IT?
I Know It is powered by the concept that learning math skills requires a solid foundation and lots and lots of practice. But, Math doesn't have to be agonizing drudgery. This math practice site turns the learning process into online interactive skill learning with fun and interesting animations that are so cute and engaging, your child may not even realize they are enjoying math.
It is designed to help children gain the needed practice to master math skills from the K-5 Grade level.
All of the math concepts presented are done so by grade level. Each skill offers a wide array of different styles of questions and pleasing math game like graphics to capture the child's attention and motivate them to keep going.
As the homeschool parent, you are the teacher. The site allows you to customize and assign work at your student's own pace and ability to encourage them to master important arithmetic concepts and skills. As the teacher, you can easily monitor your students' individual progress, make assignments, and track performance.
I Know It is a small, family-run business located near Buffalo, NY. An overview of some of the benefits include:

I know It is a comprehensive, interactive, user-friendly math activity website where students can get hands-on experience with Kindergarten through 5th Grade math skills. The online resource works great for homeschoolers to supplement their math curriculum, to use during class, or for independent work.
The beauty of it is that since it is skill based, you can easily use it as a supplement to your current math curriculum lessons. Teach a lesson from your math program, and then go to iknowit.com to find the matching skill to give your child extra independent supplemental practice or review.
I had the opportunity to review a full one-year family membership, which is good for one parent and up to four students.
How Did We Use It?
The video shows a short snippet of how a session goes if you click on the voice to be read to you. You don't have to select that option.
I logged on as soon as I received the log-in information and set up my daughter, who is slightly older than the recommended age range, but finds math so frustrating it often results in tears and upset. Because I really think the foundational skills of math are very important to gain a solid mastery of, and she completely falls apart when presented with division or algebra, she is currently doing math at approximately a 4th or 5th grade level until she gains the confidence to progress further. This site looked like the perfect opportunity to do just that.
Below are screenshots and pictures from my laptop of how the program looks and some of the different elements that come with it:
What Did We Think?
From a homeschool teacher perspective, I found the site extremely user friendly and easy to figure out how to assign lessons or change skill level. I love how it gives the parent/teacher progress reports to keep as a tangible recordkeeping item. The actual interactive screens are fun and provide tons of immediate positive feedback and correction where necessary.
