The workbook is designed for the student to complete short daily lessons that correspond with the online lessons from Reading Eggs' Mathseeds which follows a map style guide filled with interactive lessons and learning games. The workbook correlates Map sections 21-30 with the online program. Since it begins here, the lessons that correspond with the map sections begin at Lesson 101 and end with Lesson 150. While the workbook and the online program work hand-in-hand, you could do one or the other independently. The two together just reinforce each other nicely providing full instruction, online interaction as well as an opportunity to complete workbook style lessons.

Start at the very beginning of the book where you will find an explanation of how to use the book and a content page showing all of the lessons along with their page numbers. There is also an easy-to-follow yearly planner overview.

How Did We Use It?
I first presented the workbook to my daughter who was happy to try it out. We also went online to discover the corresponding lessons. She mostly worked it all independently and was happy with all of the hands-on activities in the book that included typical workbook style pencil to paper questions but also coloring and even cutting and gluing.
The lessons correspond with the Reading Eggs online program called Mathseeds. I was able to go into the parent portion of the program and change the number of her starting lesson, and then we were good to go.
The lessons are set up to follow a map. This 2nd Grade book starts with Map 21 and ends at the conclusion of Map 30:
Each lesson segment also contains one book that pertains to the skill being learned. You can have the book read to you or choose to turn that off. We opted to leave it on and have the story read aloud. I really liked how they incorporated reading along with the math.
At the end of each section of the map on the Mathseeds program, there is a new item that is "hatched". The workbook has a section at the end of each lesson group where you fill in the mystery of what was hatched. You would only know the answer if you have completed the online portion.
This ending section also allows you to check off the skills learned up to that point. And, at the end of each Map section, you fill in a certificate that offers a nice sense of accomplishment before moving on.
What Did We Think?
This workbook, in the words of my daughter, was a refreshing change from her most recent math curriculum. My youngest daughter absolutely loves workbook style learning, especially when it provides for hands-on crafts interspersed, so this was a true winner for her. I think it enriches the online program nicely to provide for a well-rounded learning experience. We are really pleased with the new workbooks.
