So, my daughter is a huge fan of For King and Country, a Christian band. Though, she is not a fangirl like most. She loves this band for their heart of sharing the Gospel as well as their talent. They were at Lifest this year. Turns out, a friend whom she's been doing Bible Study with online was also going to be there. So, the idea was that we would meet her online friend face-to-face and get to see For King and Country. The catch was that this meant driving several hundred miles, arranging a musical tour for my husband to try to earn money to pay for the trip, and one adult - namely me - would need to be with her at the festival all day.
So, we ventured out to a fairly beautiful morning for July. Before the end of the night, however, we would both be soaked. Storms moved through, and the music kept going.
It was a great day, though, all in all. She got to hand off shirts she had made for Joel and Luke and had been toting around to concerts for two years in hopes of giving them to them. She also had saved a L'Croix can for Vince to sign (there is more to this story with detail too much to type). She recorded Vince signing this can, but in the chaos of trying to stay dry through the torrential downpour, and the overly neat concert grounds, she somehow lost said can. That was really the only downside to the day other than feeling as if we were in a swimming pool with wet shorts from sitting in the pool of water our chairs had become.
Most of these pics I took. Some at the end I snagged from online posts since I would have taken more pictures, but didn't want to lug around my camera all day and then the rains came, so I couldn't even get my phone out much to click.
