Google Doodle: The Birth of Origami

When I logged onto the computer this morning, I noticed that the Google Doodle was representing the 101st birthday of Akira yoshizawa.  This man is credited as being the "grand master" of turning origami from a craft into a living art.  Wikipedia states that he created more than 50,000 origami pieces in his lifetime.

I have always loved origami.  From the moment one of my older sister's boyfriends showed me how to create a functional drinking cup out of paper, I was hooked.

Why not celebrate the day and create your own origami work?

There are countless other origami designs.  The art form can create simple designs or extremely complicated works of art.
