When I logged onto the computer this morning, I noticed that the Google Doodle was representing the 101st birthday of Akira yoshizawa. This man is credited as being the "grand master" of turning origami from a craft into a living art. Wikipedia states that he created more than 50,000 origami pieces in his lifetime.
I have always loved origami. From the moment one of my older sister's boyfriends showed me how to create a functional drinking cup out of paper, I was hooked.
