It is my goal to weave the Bible into every aspect of mine and my children's lives, so I was thrilled to get a chance to review Kid Niche Christian Books  from Weave Your Word in Me -- Part 1 written for tweens.

What is Kid Niche Christian Books and the Weave Your Word In Me?

The name, Kid Niche, comes with the intent of helping kids find their own "niche" in their own hearts while guiding them to fully understand a relationship with God.

Weave Your Word In Me is designed for tweens, or upper elementary aged kids Grades 4-6.

The full study consists of two parts. I received Part 1 which contains 36 Bible lessons (72 pages of colorful illustrations) that "weave" the Lord's Prayer throughout each lesson and is written specifically for tweens, ideal for 4th-6th Grades. The pages are already 3-hole punched and ready to be put into a binder and printed on sturdy paper. The study provides tons of practice with the Lord's Prayer in a tween-friendly wording.

There are 2 units on God the Father and God the Son. The pages include:

  • fill-in-the-blanks,
  • matching,
  • illustrations,
  • definitions,
  • cartoons,
  • charts,
  • drama,
  • drawing,
  • sequencing,
  • True and False,
  • and Multiple Choice questions.

ADDITIONAL ONLINE ACTIVITIES

There are also additional enrichment activities online that include videos, further study information on topics such as the Aurora Borealis or what a potter does, and art activities. I especially enjoyed this precious old recording of Johnny Cash.

The author, Susan Case Bonner, strives to make studying God's Word fun by drawing children into the wonder of knowing God. She has a degree in Biblical Education and has homeschooled, taught Christian school, been a director of Christian education and taught Sunday school.

I received pages ready to place into a 3-ring binder. The program is compatible with the following Bible translations: KJV, ESV, NKJV, NIV, NASB, NABRE. We used the NIV.

How Did We Use It?

I first sat down with my daughter and went over the first lesson with her, but it became very clear very fast that she would be able to master these lessons by herself, alone with God. She especially loved the privacy I gave her when it came to filling in the personal prayer time notes.

What Did We Think?

I'm not typically a fan of 3-ring binders, but that aside - I am thrilled! I was looking for a new Bible study for my daughter, and this is it! I love how it not only covers the biblical passage but also trains her how to pray from her heart using biblical guidelines. I really appreciate how the study makes her delve deeper into her spirituality.
