Booklook Blogger Review - Seek and Explore Holy Bible

I was so excited to have the opportunity of receiving Seek and Explore Holy Bible as part of the Booklook for Bloggers program in exchange only for my honest review. It is published by Zonderkidz, written for early readers at a third grade level.

What a fun, treasure-hunt style Bible for kids. What I discovered is that adorable animal characters walk your child through digging deeper to hunt and find goodies in the Word of God. The version is easy to read and perfect for early readers. The book is of high quality with pages perfect for little hands. If you're thinking of buying this as a gift for a child on your list, don't think twice. It would make the perfect gift for any special occasion, birthday, Easter, Christmas, First Communion, or baptism.

The book starts as a treasure hunt of sorts, using 6 campsites:

1. The good world God made
2. Sin enters God's good world
3. God calls Israel to a mission
4. The surprising victory of Jesus
5. The new people of God
6. God comes home

It then introduces you to 9 animal characters who are color coded and ready to take you on the journey through the Bible:

They are called the Wayees:

Greeny (green) - antelope
Talky (brown) - monkey
Thinky (gray) - elephant
Arty (pink) - meerkat
Joinme (purple) - hippo
Inny ( orange) - tiger
Crafty (gold) - jaquar
Hearty (red) - bear
Hummy (blue) - zebra

The colors represent angry, rage, sadness, jealousy, boredom, loneliness, happiness, and excitement.

The Bible is written in the New International Reader's Version NIrV and is presented in a hope to engage the child's entire heart, soul, and mind. The approach used includes:

Logical reasoning
Visualizing
Discussing and debating
Learning with others
Using interpersonal skills
Reflection or intrapersonal skills
Emotional engagement
Experimenting and doing
Kinesthetics
Nature

The Bible begins with Genesis, and each book includes an introductory synopsis with the animal character introducing an activity, and notebook page picture boxes highlighting scriptures to memorize.

The back of the book has colorful kid-friendly maps.
