Fun Fact Language
In the Central American Spanish language, you may simply want to express that you are running away from something. But, why settle for the basics when there is a specific word that sends you running in a specific, quite dramatically animated manner. The word “Achaplinarse” is a word that means to hesitate and then run away in the style of silent movie star Charlie Chaplin. Perhaps you will need to know this if anyone ever says to you, “Así te tragues un pavo y todas las plumas se conviertan en cuchillas de afeitar.” If this has been spoken over you, you were just cursed in a very specific way. It means, “May all your turkey’s feathers turn into razor blades.” Ouch! At this point, you should emphaticallly “achaplinarse” for sure.
