Today is Day 24 of the Advent Calendar Jesse Tree devotions. The symbol, or ornament, for Day 24 is that of an angel.
The scriptures are Psalm 91:11 - "He will put his angels in charge of you to protect you in all your ways;" and
Hebrews 1:14 - "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?" Luke 2:8-14 and Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
The Old Testament and New Testament verses explain more about angels. An angel is a messenger sent from God, usually with good news. The angel in this account had the message, "Peace on Earth." This was God's Christmas greeting to us sung to us by angels.
Activity: If you are so lucky as to have a white Christmas, go out and make a snow angel by laying down in the snow and waving your arms and legs. If not, you can join the angels in songs of praise to God for sending Jesus.
Today's ornament for the Jesse Tree is the symbol of an angel. There are so many options of how to make an angel ornament. One of my favorites is to take a crocheted doily & add a wooden bead or a doll face for the head. But, there are so many variations in making an angel ornament. Use your favorite.
