Doodle Roll Product Review

The makers of Doodle Roll sent me two samples to try out and write my honest opinion about the product.  The product is amazing and found at a handful of retailers in most states and online at http://www.doodleroll.com/.

There are two sizes of Doodle Rolls.  Both are portable.  Depending on the size of your purse, they may even both fit neatly tucked away inside your purse or diaper bag.  The smaller one will for sure fit inside most purses.  This is a mother’s dream for a long car trip, waiting time at a restaurant or hands-on instructional time that requires writing or drawing.  If you have a real hands-on child, he or she may even benefit from doodling while you read literature or history out loud.
Unlike bulky alternatives to the same idea of a roll of coloring paper and crayons, the Doodle Roll comes inside a portable container that clicks shut to hold crayons and a roll of paper.  The larger Doodle Roll has 30 feet of paper, while the smaller one holds 15 feet of paper on a roll.  It is very easy to use.  Pop open the plastic container and pull out a portion of the paper roll.  Then, snap it shut with the beginning portion of the paper roll on the outside of the container.  Next, open up the compartment that holds the crayons and get doodling.  When you are done drawing, there is a perforated edge on the plastic container (don’t worry, it’s not sharp enough to create accidental cuts).  Simply tear the paper off to keep your drawing, or roll it back inside if you prefer.  Snap everything closed and tuck it away for future use.  It is extremely portable, convenient and easy to use.  Another plus we enjoyed is the double-tipped crayons that came with the larger Doodle Roll.  This allows for easy access to long-lasting drawing time.

My kids were very excited to get the change to try the Doodle Roll.  I'm sure yours will be too.  The only downside I found was that the smaller roll was a bit difficult to re-snap shut for some reason and my 5 year-old kept trying to fold the paper the wrong way to tear it, so the roll kept ending up back inside the container.  I don't think this is a common problem and am looking forward to packing it along for our next trip.

Hopefully the campaign I helped promote will bring these to your Walmart shelves soon.  If not, find your Doodle Roll at www.doodleroll.com.
