Where's Peara? Chocolate and History

Where's Peara? is an element of my blog which I introduced this summer.  It is a fun way for kids to learn geography and historical site facts by following the travels of a plush pear.

Can you guess Where's Peara? today...

Peara trying to "follow the yellow brick road".  But, no - She's not in Kansas anymore, Toto!

There's always an elephant, no matter where we go.  My elephant-loving daughter squishes Peara with excitement when two of her favorite things were combined in this chocolate elephant sculpture.

...Big, big, big...  Huge hint in the window's reflection below!

No, we have not gone back to medieval times, but we are armed with chocolate!

Journeys with a pear in tow may make you feel like you're inside an Alice in Wonderland tale, but have you figured out yet "Where's Peara?"

If you haven't been here, you may not be able to guess this location.  It is historically significant for the Nestle Chocolate Company.  Where there used to be a factory that offered tours, there is now no tours opened to the public.

There is, however, a museum of chocolate in Burlington, Wisconsin.

Learn more about the history of chocolate, Nestle and the Chocolate Museum here!
