What is The Green Book from Progeny Press?
The Green Book is recommended for Grades 3 to 5. The setting is science fiction, and the author is Jill Paton Walsh. It is a tale of adventure as a young girl boards the last spaceship to venture away from a dying earth to a new, unfamiliar planet. The story that unfolds as the main character, little Pattie, keeps track of the changes in her new world as she writes in a green cover, gold-leafed journal.
The 57-page eGuide and 6-page PDF Answer Key from Progeny Press was written by Rebecca Gilleland. All of the unit lessons are written from a Christian perspective!

The e-Guides are downloadable and in PDF format which works on Mac or Windows. It is set up for you to easily use on-screen or print it if you prefer.
The downloadable eGuide started with Before-You-Read Activities before digging into each of the 7 chapters in The Green Book addressing Vocabulary words that are used in the book, Literary Techniques, Moral Lessons and Character Values, Activities and Writing Assignments, further research which recommends additional books or websites to further your study, Science-related study including a Venn Diagram, a mystery word message, a crossword puzzle, and gardening activity. The Chapters are followed by an Overview, After-You-Read Projects, and Additional Resources.

And, it comes with an Answer Key!
How Did We Use It?
I received a downloadable eGuide and a downloadable accompanying Answer Key. The only thing that I was required to supply was the book, which I quickly found available. My youngest daughter is in the upper age range for which this book and study guide are recommended, so I requested this specific book with her in mind and downloaded the PDF eGuide and Answer Key as soon as I received it.
What Did We Think?
I love Progeny Press and every product I have ever been blessed to use. This one is no exception. I love how the PDFs are interactive and allow the student to fill in the blanks directly onto the computer, or you can print them off if you prefer. I really loved the option of being able to save on printing ink and paper by keeping only the files on my computer and no paper clutter. But, I do appreciate that it gives me that option of printing if I choose. I am so happy that the eGuides are Christian focused and discuss literature from a Christian perspective. To me, this is the most important feature above all else.
