So, this year will be my first Mother's Day without my mom. She passed away in December, and so far I have experienced what would have been her birthday, in April and my dad has experienced his first birthday without her here.
My girls and I plan on honoring her by attending the mother/daughter banquet at her church that we usually attended with her. I put together a picture video in tribute to her that they asked me to do. Well, actually they asked us to speak but none of us could get through that.
It hasn't completely hit me yet. Actually, it comes in waves - usually at the most unexpected moments.
The times I feel closest to her now is actually when I am praising and worshiping. It's as if she is right there in our midst worshiping God at the feet of His throne.
I have a lot of insightful, deep thoughts which I'm sure will become more plentiful, more insightful and deeper as I walk through Mother's Day without her.
For now, happy Mother's Day in heaven, mom!
