Journey Through The Code - Lesson 10

This post is sponsored and any curriculum purchased through my affiliate code will provide commission and compensation to the owner of Puddle Jumping Blog.

Welcome to my journal blog entries about what it is like to use the Kingdom Code curriculum that teaches kids financial responsibility and how to build a business God's way. Today we are sharing about Lesson 10 in our Journey Through The Code, sponsored by The Kingdom Code. Come with us on a 27-lesson journey as we journal about our experience with The Kingdom Code curriculum!

We were asked to have our child choose a viable business before the end of Lesson 2 and to complete the Treasure Builder Permit form.

The program emphasizes service businesses, even though we are free to choose a goods-related business instead. The reason they stress service is because business usually requires less money since a goods business requires purchasing supplies and figuring out costs for each item. Service teaches children the ability to please someone else in order to receive compensation. If you choose a goods business, many of the activities will have to be adapted and cost/sale price must be taught thoroughly so profitability is achieved.

Here's our experience with LESSON 10:

Lesson 10 presented the Letter "O" in the JOEYS acronym. J stands for Jesus, and O stands for Others. The lesson was about how to use part of the income to give to others and how to make others happy with things that are free, like a smile.

OUR REMARKS ABOUT ACTIVITIES IN THE LESSON THAT WE FOUND TO BE ENGAGING:

My daughter and I both enjoy the scripture references, and we are thrilled when there are activities that we have already accomplished or find enjoyable, like smiling at others or serving.

SUGGESTIONS, CHANGES, OR ADDITIONS MADE THAT WORKED PARTICULARLY WELL FOR OUR FAMILY:

This lesson was wonderful as is with absolutely nothing needing to be changed for our adjustment. Though, we did enjoy the bonus of the math activity sheets to apply toward our math learning time.

RECORDED OBSERVATIONS OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, MONEY SKILLS, BIBLE KNOWLEDGE, LIFE SKILLS, SOCIAL SKILLS, OR POSITIVE BEHAVIORS EXHITIBED OR ACQUIRED BY MY CHILD THAT I DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTE TO THE KINGDOM CODE CURRICULUM:

We really loved how one of the suggestions for giving was to give clean water by contributing to an organization that provides clean water. We were thrilled because my daughter has already been giving to a clean water project. See, she was my rainbow baby after 3 miscarriages, and because she was the spiritural stream of water in my once dry and barren womb, when she was born I decided to give back to a clean water project in her honor. So, now that she has her own Treasure Builder, she can give back herself.
