Journey Through The Code - Lesson 17

CAN YOU BELIEVE WE ONLY HAVE TEN LESSONS LEFT?

Welcome to my journal blog entries about what it is like to use the Kingdom Code curriculum that teaches kids financial responsibility and how to build a business God's way. Today we are sharing about Lesson 17 in our Journey Through The Code, sponsored by The Kingdom Code. Come with us on a 27-lesson journey as we journal about our experience with The Kingdom Code curriculum!

We were asked to have our child choose a viable business before the end of Lesson 2 and to complete the Treasure Builder Permit form.

The program emphasizes service businesses, even though we are free to choose a goods-related business instead. The reason they stress service is because business usually requires less money since a goods business requires purchasing supplies and figuring out costs for each item. Service teaches children the ability to please someone else in order to receive compensation. If you choose a goods business, many of the activities will have to be adapted and cost/sale price must be taught thoroughly so profitability is achieved.

Here's our experience with LESSON 17:

The lesson is only ten away from completion, and it doesn't seem like it should already be this close to finishing. It included the proclamation, worksheet, and activity like other lessons as well as key vocabulary terms and extra activities you can choose to do. This one also has a letter from Aunt Jimmi, who had been introduced in earlier lessons.

OUR REMARKS ABOUT ACTIVITIES IN THE LESSON THAT WE FOUND TO BE ENGAGING:

This lesson was all about your gifts, talents, things you are naturally good at. It presented it in a fresh new way using scripture.

SUGGESTIONS, CHANGES, OR ADDITIONS MADE THAT WORKED PARTICULARLY WELL FOR OUR FAMILY:

I really like the approach to learning what talents my child has. I've always heard the typical list of spiritual gifts, but this lesson presented them differently than I've ever seen before, and I really liked it.

RECORDED OBSERVATIONS OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, MONEY SKILLS, BIBLE KNOWLEDGE, LIFE SKILLS, SOCIAL SKILLS, OR POSITIVE BEHAVIORS EXHITIBED OR ACQUIRED BY MY CHILD THAT I DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTE TO THE KINGDOM CODE CURRICULUM:

My daughter was able to complete this lesson with very little parent interaction from me, other than any opportunity I jumped on to discuss her talents and future skills, etc. This quite possibly may have been one of my favorite lessons so far.
