Welcome to my journal blog entries about what it is like to use the Kingdom Code curriculum that teaches kids financial responsibility and how to build a business God's way. Today we are sharing about Lesson 20 in our Journey Through The Code, sponsored by The Kingdom Code. Come with us on a 27-lesson journey as we journal about our experience with The Kingdom Code curriculum!

CAN YOU BELIEVE WE ARE ALREADY ON LESSON 20?

We were asked to have our child choose a viable business before the end of Lesson 2 and to complete the Treasure Builder Permit form.

The program emphasizes service businesses, even though we are free to choose a goods-related business instead. The reason they stress service is because business usually requires less money since a goods business requires purchasing supplies and figuring out costs for each item. Service teaches children the ability to please someone else in order to receive compensation. If you choose a goods business, many of the activities will have to be adapted and cost/sale price must be taught thoroughly so profitability is achieved.

Here's our experience with LESSON 20:

OUR REMARKS ABOUT ACTIVITIES IN THE LESSON THAT WE FOUND TO BE ENGAGING:

This lesson was a look back review of lessons 15-20, going over the character sales code and diving into a lesson about Daniel in the Bible, with key ideas to seek knowledge to solve problems and make good choices. It focused on problem solving sstrategies and being persuasive, living by God's code to always make good choices along the way. It involved the usual parts of the lesson, starting with the Proclamation and had a worksheet to complete.

SUGGESTIONS, CHANGES, OR ADDITIONS MADE THAT WORKED PARTICULARLY WELL FOR OUR FAMILY:

My daughter was able to complete this lesson entirely on her own with very little interaction on my part. I think that's exciting given that she will eventually be doing her own Treasure Builder independently as she matures.

RECORDED OBSERVATIONS OF CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, MONEY SKILLS, BIBLE KNOWLEDGE, LIFE SKILLS, SOCIAL SKILLS, OR POSITIVE BEHAVIORS EXHITIBED OR ACQUIRED BY MY CHILD THAT I DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTE TO THE KINGDOM CODE CURRICULUM:

One of the best activities in this lesson was in the bonus section where it suggested to start a prayer journal. My daughter has begun journaling in many ways, and this is so therapeutic in working through issues of life and business.
