Welcome May and Day 1 of Blogathon 2012
Today I woke up to Day 1 of Blogathon 2012. This means that every day in May, I will attempt to keep the pace to post at least one new blog article. I have plans on some fun and exciting posts. At least, I hope my readers will find them as exciting to read as I do.
Today will start out slow because I'm running on less than 5 hours sleep after a very exasperating evening.
So, this post will simply be an introduction to the month of May.
As I sit to type at 6:52 a.m. on May 1, I hear a storm raging outside with thunder and rain and hope our electricity will stay on and those baseball sized (yes, that's right - Actually, the weatherman used the term teacup size, 3" diameter) hail stays away.
Where I live May brings on a busy storm season.
May brings on flowers and gardens
May brings on studies of butterflies and new beginnings
May brings the celebration of a birthday in our household
May brings on the end of one school year and the beginning of summer
May offers a close to one chapter and the beginning of another
May ends with remembering our military
It brings on unit studies of:
Birds
Flowers
Bees
Weather
Storms
Tornadoes
Lightning
Thunder
Hail
Summer
Sunshine
May Day
Mothers Day
Birthdays
Military
Memorial Day
Our Country - USA
Flags
It brings on the opportunity to get outside and move around - Get fit and exercise our bodies that God gave us, to get healthy.
Each May for me brings on the wonder of whether or not I have taught my kids enough throughout their school year. I begin to look at what worked for them in terms of their education and what did not. It often is the time when homeschooling groups offer used curriculum sales which allow me to get my hands on new information. Most of this information, unfortunately, excites mostly only me however. Thus, it ends up in an entirely new form of a used curriculum sale and hence goes the cycle.
What does May mean to you and your children in homeschooling?

Whitney Farms Organic Products For Worry-Free Gardening With Kids
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Whitney Farms for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m so excited! I just learned about Whitney Farms® which is a full line of 100% natural plant foods and soils. Who knows, it might even make your children eat their veggies. As a mom, I can hope for this result. At least, when they do sink their teeth into a home-grown tomato raised with organic soil and organic plant food products, I don't have to worry about what they are eating.

My children and I plant a vegetable and herb garden every year as part of homeschooling science. It also serves for some amazing life lessons of watching plants grow from a tiny seed and responsibility in watering, weeding and caring for the garden. When I think about my kids getting their hands dirty, however; the soil, fertilizers, plant foods and other products used is a huge concern. With Whitney Farms® products I don’t have to worry.
My family believes organic is best. When given a choice, we choose natural products. These products are not only good for the environment but are the best way to go for deciding what foods to put into our bodies. With three rapidly growing little bodies in my household, this is a huge consideration for us.

Why worry if your child is eating unnecessary pesticides when there is a company like Whitney Farms® who provides naturally organic gardening products? There are no additives in the gardening products from Whitney Farms®. There is nothing artificial – Just ingredients from the Earth as we believe God intended it to be from the start in the Garden of Eden.

Whitney Farms products are designed to produce the biggest and most beautiful flowers and vegetables naturally.

Whitney Farms is green and organic, but not green behind the ears. The company has over 25 years of leading gardening experience. They make products that produce very little or no dust, are easy to use and have all the beneficial microbes without the foul odor of manure fertilizers. Their products give you all the benefits of microbes, macro and micronutrients with specially designed protein-based blends that plants need to not just grow but also thrive.
Try it out for yourself and your children. Use this coupon from Whitney Farms® for $3.00 off your first order.
