Max Lucado's 'Thank You, God, For Blessing Me' Read 2 Me Hermie Review

A new little board book perfect for bedtime story telling!  This adorable book is a sweet way to put your toddler/preschooler to sleep.  Mom and Dad just might be counting their blessings too, as they read this "'Read 2 Me Little Hermie" book to their child.

The book, perfect for little hands, is based on the full-length story of Hermie (a caterpillar who discovers God has a lot more in store for him than met the eye).  With amazingly sweet illustrations, your child is sure to fall in love with this little caterpillar.  But, what makes the story even more endearing is the fact that the little green creature recounts all the things he's thankful for - While still in his worm-like state.  He has not even transitioned into becoming a beautiful butterfly.  Yet, he discovers many things he is already thankful for right there in his garden.

As you walk through this book, you may notice it has the rhythm of a child's poem or prayer book.  Why not turn it into a prayer your child can learn and recite by heart.  By the end of the story, your child will be counting her own little blessings.  Mom and dad might think of a blessing or two as well.  It's the perfect send off to dreamland, with a thankful heart!

Hermie, A Common Caterpillar: An Essential Addition To Your Child's Early Reading Library

Hermie is a classic Max Lucado book for children.  Now, released in a Level 2 Reader, your early reader can read it all by herself.  A wonderful book in many regards:

• Easy to read (for you and your early reader)
• A lesson of science (caterpillar to butterfly)
• A lesson of change
• Reading Lessons
• Religious Studies (Christian Lessons)

I was allowed to download a free e-reader version of the book from the BookSneeze program, in exchange for my honest review.  I am not required to give a positive review, and have received nothing in return other than the e-book.  All of my opinions in this review are 100% my opinion.

The story of Hermie is about a common, everyday, caterpillar who hangs onto hope that God has something more in store for the unsightly "worm".  As Hermie continues throughout his day, he encounters many beautiful friends, such as the lovely-spotted lady bug, a snail who carries his home with him, and others.  He, and his friend, continue to believe God has something more in store for the two of them.  However, they struggle to believe.

One day, Hermie falls asleep.  When he wakes up, he is a beautiful butterfly.  As for his friend, well, I'll let you discover what happens to him as you read this book, with a classic message, to your child.

The story of Hermie leaves you feeling important and beautiful, as God created you.  Now, with this Max Lucado book in a Level 2 reader version, your early reader can read the message to himself.  Of course, it's fun to share a little snuggle time with your child reading along.  So, if you prefer to read it aloud, the message never gets old.

Book Review Of Max Lucado Max On Life

Max Lucado has more than 25 years as a minister and writer. During this time, he has received thousands of quesions about life. In his latest book, Max On Life, he answers over 150 of some of the most common questions. I had the pleasure of reviewing Max Lucado's newest book, Max on Life through the BookSneeze program.

The book tackles questions from simple to spiritually complex, the book is separated in main categories with questions and answers to follow. These categories include topics on prayer, parenting, forgiveness, pains and hurts, faith, finances, hope, after life and more. At the end of the book are two cross-referencing sections. One allows the reader to look up specific topics to find the answers. The other allows the reader to look up scripture to back up the reasoning behind the answer given. The book also includes a section about Max's advice on the topic of publishing and writing.

It's not a book that is easy to read from cover to cover. It is more of a resource book. If you have a particular question about a specific topic, the reader can go to the back of the book and look up main key words and then go directly to the answer to their particular question. While I agree with most of what Max Lucado has to say, I am not theologically on target 100% with Max's spiritual views, but overall the answers given in the book at very least spurs one on to think deeper and to search the scriptures to find their answer in full. I found the book to be a good resource book for anyone especially for those in a helping field such as a counselor or pastor to use. It's also a good book to give as a gift to a friend or family member in a new stage of life such as a new graduate, someone getting married or having a baby or going through trials. I rate the book a 4 stars out of 5.
