When we went to bed on Saturday night, we had enjoyed a day that was close to 60 degrees. The weathermen were all predicting a massive blizzard to move into the area overnight, but unless you've experienced these kind of midwest temperature changes, no one would have believed it would ever happen.
When we woke up on Sunday morning, we already had about 3 inches of snow on the ground. And, then as the day progressed, we would accumulate more than a foot of snow.
It was record breaking, yet prayed for by my 11-year-old daughter as we had not yet had more than one good snow day all winter. This would be our last hope for a snow day before spring.
Here's how we spent the day:
In true homeschool science-mom fashion, I began measuring the snow fall every hour, and then every half hour.
