Free printable advent calendars

Does your family celebrate Advent? Advent is the days before Christmas when we anticipate the celebration of the coming of our Savior.

In years past, I have done the Jesse Tree, which is similar to Advent but uses Old Testament prophecy scriptures that point to the coming Messiah.

We also have done a variety of Advent calendars throughout the years. One of them is a cloth hangar quilted tapestry that has a pocket for each day, and we take turns choosing which child moves the wooden painted yellow star to the next pocket each day.

I recently ran across another idea that I thought was fun.  Wrap up a gift (just a small gift, maybe even a book that tells the Bible story) for each day, and use these cute number tags to indicate which gift gets opened each day.
