My 2013 Homeschool Haiku

I have been taking part in the Blogathon 2013 for the entire month of June, and today is Haiku Day!

Teaching poetry and literature is fun.  Haiku poetry is a technique that is from the Japanese.  There are more than one style of Haiku writing, but basically a Haiku is 3 lines of a poem that does not rhyme and has a 5 syllable 7 syllable 55 syllable pattern.

Following is my Haiku about homeschooling:

Why do I home school?

Socialization is key

With Christ at the root

A Haiku for Homeschoolers

Today, as part of the Blogathon 2012, I have been instructed to write a haiku.  Of course, I will stay on topic for those of us who homeschool.  Here is my homeschool haiku from last year:

Why do I home school?

Socialization for one

Solid teaching too

So, now to come up with a fresh haiku for 2012.  Here goes:

Teach my kids at home?

People ask:  "Are you crazy?"

As I crack a smile!

A Homeschool Haiku

As part of the Blogathon 2011, Haiku day was yesterday. I had other things to write about yesterday, so today I am writing my Haiku. When teaching poetry and literature, Haiku poetry is a fun technique to get children interested in writing poetry and in encouraging learning rhythm by clapping out the syllables. There are technically more than one form of Haiku poetry, but the basic Haiku is 3 lines of a poem that does not rhyme and has a 5 syllable 7 syllable 5 syllable pattern.
