Since I had quite to stay home with my son, and continued to be a home-maker when my next child was born, I was beginning to feel the pinch of a one-income family. I sought out to sell on eBay.
It took me months to get up the nerve to get past all their pages of information because I would stop at the same page - the one that asked for bank account information. Every time I made it to this screen, I would panic and log out.
Until one day, I took the plunge. I believe I said a prayer as I dove in.
And, I've been selling on eBay ever since that day. Oddly enough, the other day I happened to notice that eBay listed my first sale that I ever made. Sadly, it was on my wedding anniversary. I thought - Well, that pretty much sums up my life. What were you doing on your wedding anniversary in 2002? I was making my first eBay sale.
Since then, eBay has provided extra "McDonald's" money as well as help to pay down some credit card debt. I acquire my items through thrift stores mostly. However, I am still in the process of selling the contents of my entire basement on eBay. My kids know that when we go "thrifting" most of the items are going to go up for sale on eBay. My one daughter has developed a pretty good eye for popular items too!
- eBay allows me to have an outlet to declutter my house.
- eBay allows me to stay home and homeschool
- eBay allows opportunities for my children to help out with what is essentially a work-from-home office.
I don't like to be pushy and talk about it much to friends and family members, but if you want to take a look at what I currently have listed, help yourself - Or, better yet, share it with everyone you know!
My eBay items currently up for auction!
Things change weekly, so come back anytime.
